...suicide is not as bad as it's being made out to be. Much more so for euthanasia, which in my opinion should be legalized, but let us focus on suicide instead. In the event that you cannot differenciate between suicide and euthanasia, I suggest you look it up in a dictionary. Note that Euthanasia is NOT a country in between Europe and Asia.

When people say that you cannot take away your own life, they are dead wrong. It is YOUR life, and you can take it away if you want to. Certain factions (which I shall not mention) say that life is God's gift, and by commiting suicide, you are essentially spitting that gift back in His face. And there will be that whole thing about being blinded by some antithesis of God, eventually condemning yourself in some fiery eternity, yadda yadda *yawn*.
But consider this : If you are in a situation where you are actually contemplating suicide, you aren't exactly kneeling down and singing praises to the Lord for giving you all that you have (Exceptions will be mentioned further down). In fact, He gave you life so that you could live through this despair! If that is His idea of a Gift, I suggest you look up at the sky above you, extend your arm towards it with fist clenched, extend your middle finger, and say "FUCK YOU!". After that, string up that noose, or load up that shotgun. Satan's only a jump or a trigger pull away... and at least Satan doesn't put you through shit and say "It's my test to you, all ye faithful."

I have a certain respect and admiration for those who commit suicide. Contrary to what some might say, suicide isn't a coward's way out. Try cutting yourself on purpose with a kitchen knife. Come on. Just a nick... No? It isn't easy. In fact, it takes a fair amount of guts to do something knowing that you'll never be able to say "Stop" and/or "Let's start over again". 

No, you WILL be able to say stop, depending on the method in which you decide on to dispense yourself. This is both a good thing and a bad; the good being that you can (most of the time) be saved if you ever have a change of heart, the bad being that it is constantly used as an excuse for attention. Boy/girlfriend dumped you? Just down a few pills or slash your wrists and call for help. This has been used a gazillion times by chinese girls who obviously read too many Hong Kong romance comics. These are the people who really deserve to die. Not only for reading Hong Kong romance comics, but for being stupid enough to endanger themselves for the melodrama.

Suicide is not an easy option as there are many factors to take into account. One of which would be friends and family. Would you really want to leave them forever? Furthermore, what would the impact be on them? Then there is the method. Ah. The method.

In cases of suicide, I have never been much interested in the What, Why, Who, Where, and When. It is the How that gets my attention. Should I make it painless and fashion myself a noose or buy a shotgun? Or should I go off with a bang and jump off a tall building next to a busy street. My personal favourite is jumping off a building near a daycare centre during dismissal. Nothing like knowing that you will always be remembered by parents sending their kids for theraphy and by the kids themselves. In addition, it would also provide jobs for counsellors and theraphists.

So final recap: Suicide is okay if you have a valid reason to do so, but if it's for attention then I hope you really do die. Painfully. For the boring stuff like ways to prevent suicides or warning signs to look out for, consult a textbook or, better yet, sin up for a course in Abnormal Psychology.
