I don't know if anyone else has seen these things around before, but I usually find them being distributed around Bangsar or Midvalley. A friend also mentioned that they can be bought for about a dollar at most Christian bookshops.
Chick tracts are so named because they are drawn by one Jack T. Chick, and not because it contains drawings of girls, much to my disappointment. They are about 10-page, black-and-white comic books containing some of the most offensive and biased material I've ever read. Nothing is revered or even respected in these "comics" other than Jesus and God. Nope... Not even the Virgin Mary, leading me to believe the author/artist to be Protestant.
Here's an example of one such tract relating to
Islam :
Yadda yadda... Allah is Satan... yadda yadda... Jesus is the true saviour... yadda yadda... and :
If anyone should be going to hell, it would be Jack Chick. Shows that Christians can destroy anything, even comic books.
There's another one where one theory,
evolution, is torn to shreds in favour of another theory more preposterous : Creationism. Maybe it's just me, but I think a theory where single celled organisms adapt through changes in the gene pool would make more sense compared to one where everything is as it is today because a pair of hands belonging to a higher being decided to get artistic with a lump of mud.
The tracts are usually chock-full of references, to the point where one has no other alternative but to agree with the points in the tract. IF you take the bible and various
Christian publications as solid references.
So when mommy says that comics are killing your brain cells, smack her over the head with Spiderman #666 and say "Normal comics are not killing my brain cells.
Christian ones are!"
